Creating New Pages
Creating new pages in your website is easy.
Assuming you are logged in to your backend editor, first, click on "list" or "page" view in the left column. Then in the center column click the icon next to the page name you want to create the page inside or after, and click "New" in the dropdown menu. |
You will be presented with the following screen allowing you to choose what kind of content you want to create. The two options of interest here are "Page (inside)" and "Page (after)". A "Page (after)" another page will be on the same level as that page in the site and menu structure. A "Page (inside)" of another page will be a sub-page of that page and will appear inside it in the menu structure (where you have to roll over the page that contains it to see it in the menu unless it is inside the top level page in which case it will appear in the first level of the menu). Click either "Page (inside)" or "Page (after)" to create the page.

Next you will see the following dialogue in which the only required field is the "Pagetitle" Name the page . This title will appear in the menu and the web Page title at the top of a browser window. You can also enter an "alias" that will be the html title of the page in urls. Also make sure the "Hide Page" box is unchecked, unless you are not ready for the page to appear yet. Also note you can use the "Hide in menus" checkbox if you do not want the page to appear in automated menus on the site. In that case you will have to provide a link somewhere in text or email the link to people who you want to see it. Fill in the "Pagetitle" and click the familiar "Save document" or the "Save and close document" button
.

You should now see the page you just created in your center column. Click on the page and note that it is empty until you add some content. If you need help, click on the Creating new Content Elements tutorial.
Common problems:
- What if my created page appears in the wrong place? If the page you created didn't appear where you expected it in the site structure, you can easily move it around. Check out the Page and Site Structure Editing tutorial.
